According to reports, the minor had recently cleared his Class 12 examination from a CBSE board school and had decided to celebrate the occasion with his peers. He patronized the aforementioned establishments in Koregaon Park, though the situation regarding the entry of a minor into the premises is still unclear.

It has emerged that the minor’s father had recently purchased a new Porsche car, which was not yet registered with the RTO and therefore did not have a license plate. The minor decided to take the vehicle to the venue and then intended to return it home after the festival. Unfortunately, his reckless driving veered out of control near Landmark Society on Kalyani Nagar – Airport Road, hitting the motorcycles of Anees Kudiya and Ashwini Koshta.

The Pune police have registered a case against the minor under sections 279, 304(a), 337, 338, and 427 of the IPC as well as sections 184 and 119/177 of the Motor Vehicle Act. The complaint has been filed by 24-year-old Aqib Ramzan Mulla, a resident of Chandannagar and a native of Solapur.

Moreover, the Pune police have announced their intention to prosecute the builder for allowing his minor son to drive the vehicle which led to the tragic death. Besides, legal action will be taken against the owner of the bar in Koregaon Park, where the minor was served alcohol. “In the light of the accident, the father of the accused and the bar serving alcohol to the minor/accused are being pursued under Sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act,” the police announced. Vedant was arrested by Yerawada police and produced before a vacation magistrate, after which he was granted bail. His blood samples were taken for alcohol testing, but the results are pending. According to the police report, Vedant had visited a pub in Koregaon Park before the tragic incident.
