Sirsa, 26 June: Cyber ​​​​thugs are committing fraud in new ways every day. In the latest incident, an unknown woman told a young man of village Panihari in Sirsa district that she was a citizen of USA and expressed her desire to travel in India and cheated him of Rs 40500.

Rajkumar, son of Bhagwan Chand, a resident of Panihari, in his complaint lodged in Cyber ​​​​Police Station Sirsa, that he received a friend request on Facebook from Mary Smith, which he accepted.

After this, she gave her number, on which he talked to her on WhatsApp. Mary Smith told that she is a resident of USA and is working as a nurse in Syria. She told that she is interested in traveling to India. Therefore, she needs his help to travel in India, he accepted. Rajkumar told that on June 21, he received a call from an unknown number. The caller told that Mary Smith has reached Indira Gandhi Airport Delhi. She does not have Indian currency.

GST officials have detained him at the airport because he has a lot of dollars. He needs 20 thousand rupees to get his bag released. He sent 20 thousand rupees with the intention of help. But the caller told him that the money did not reach him.

He sent a scanner and asked him to send the payment. He sent 500, 2000 and 18000 rupees. After this, he got a call from Smith that she will come in two-three days and return the payment. When he demanded the money after three days, Mary Smith blocked him on WhatsApp. Then he realized that he had been cheated online. Cyber ​​police station has registered a case under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code and started investigation.
