What did the company say- Spicejet Employee Slaps CISF

Spicejet said, ‘An unfortunate incident took place at Jaipur airport today, in which a female employee of Spicejet and a male CISF personnel are involved. While taking the catering vehicle out of the gate, our female security staff member, who was a holder of a valid Airport Entry Pass issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), was subjected to inappropriate and unacceptable language by the CISF personnel, including asking her to come and meet him at home after duty hours.’

The company further said, ‘SpiceJet is taking immediate legal action in this case of sexual harassment against its female employee and has informed the local police. We stand firmly with our employee and extend full support to her.’

A female employee of an aviation company was arrested on Thursday for slapping the officer. Police have registered a case of assault against Anuradha Rani on the basis of the complaint of the CISF officer, while the aviation company also contacted the local police and said that it was taking ‘immediate legal action’. Police had initially said Rani worked as a food supervisor but the airline said she was a female security staff. “We are investigating the matter after which appropriate action will be taken,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Kavendra Singh said.

CISF officials said Anuradha Rani was entering the airport at around 4 am through the “vehicle gate” along with other staff when CISF Assistant Sub Inspector Giriraj Prasad stopped her “as she did not have valid permission to use” the gate.

CISF officials said the woman was then asked to undergo a check at the nearby entry gate meant for the company’s crew members but no female CISF personnel was present there at the time. Jaipur airport station in-charge Ram Lal said the ASI called a female colleague for the security check but the argument escalated and the SpiceJet employee slapped her.
