Canada recently held an Express Entry draw, issuing 1,800 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) specifically for Trade Occupations. This draw took place on October 23, 2024, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 433, which is three points lower than the last Trade Occupations draw on July 4, 2024.
Just a day earlier, on October 22, Canada conducted a Canadian Experience Class draw, offering 400 ITAs with a minimum CRS score of 539.
In 2024, Canada has organized various draws, including:
Nine all-program draws
Nine draws for French speakers
Draws for specific sectors like transport, agriculture, healthcare, and STEM
Ten Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws
Eight Canadian Experience Class draws
Two draws for trade occupations
Last year, Canada hosted more draws overall, including 19 all-program draws and several targeted towards healthcare, transport, and skilled trades.
In total, IRCC issued 110,266 ITAs in 2023, a significant increase from 45,115 in 2022. Canada aims to surpass its immigration target of 465,000 for 2023 by increasing the goal to 485,000 ITAs for 2024.
The latest draw followed a tie-breaking rule that went into effect on March 12, 2024. Only candidates who submitted their profiles before this date and had the minimum CRS score received invitations.
This was the 43rd draw of 2024 and the 321st overall. Candidates have 60 days to submit their applications, which are usually processed within six months.
