Chandigarh: On the socio-economic criteria marks given by the Haryana Government to the children of poor families in government jobs, Chief Minister Mr. Nayab Singh said that our government stands with the poor and the basis of these criteria is Antyodaya upliftment through government jobs. We will take every possible legal step for their rights and if needed, we will also bring a bill in the Assembly.
He clarified that the candidates who have been appointed to the posts of Group-C and Group-D need not panic, the government stands firmly with them. He said that the decision of the Supreme Court has not put any question mark on the CET examination. As per the policy, the CET result is valid for 3 years.
The Chief Minister was addressing a press conference here today. He said that today itself he got the opportunity to visit Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya and he wished for the happiness and prosperity of the 2.5 crore population of Haryana.
Mr. Nayab Singh said that our government had made a policy in February 2018 to give some extra marks in the examinations conducted for government jobs to poor widows, orphans, members of families deprived of government jobs for many decades, youth of Vimukta castes and temporary employees. Due to this policy, thousands of poor youth and temporary employees have got permanent government jobs since then.
He said that in the year 2018, the double bench of the High Court itself had praised the provision of 5 marks on socio-economic basis of the Haryana government. He said that the Congress leaders do petty politics in this regard and are misleading the youth by spreading lies and confusion by making opposite statements. Whereas our government has given jobs to 1 lakh 32 thousand youth in the last 9 and a half years.
The politically motivated recruitment stop gang is playing with the future of the youth
Shri Nayab Singh sarcastically said that the politically motivated recruitment stop gang in the state is playing with the future of the youth. This recruitment stop gang does not want the poor, weak, deprived and needy youth of Haryana to get government jobs without any expenses.
He said that the leaders of the opposition party are neither concerned about the youth of the state nor about the poor widows, orphans and poor youth of Vimukta caste and Tapriwas, whom our government is committed to help. Such politicians are deliberately making absurd statements to confuse the youth to shine their politics.
In the previous government, the youth used to look for recommendations and today the youth look for libraries.
The Chief Minister said that if we look at the tenure of the Congress government, nepotism, casteism and regionalism were prevalent in jobs during their time. Jobs were auctioned, people with money and influence bought jobs and poor families remained deprived.
Therefore, frustration and disappointment started growing among the youth. They used to take the vote of the poor person but they did not have jobs to give to those poor people. Whereas our government has given jobs to about 1,32,000 youth in the last 9 and a half years without any slip or expenditure, which has instilled hope and confidence in the youth today. In the previous government, the youth used to look for recommendations and today the youth look for libraries to study. This is the difference between the Congress and our government.
He said that a Congress leader makes allegations with the intention of spreading confusion, while the reality is that 13 lakh 50 thousand youth had registered for 13,657 posts of Group-D. Out of these, 9 lakh 50 thousand candidates had given the CET exam, out of which 4 lakh 20 thousand candidates qualified. More than 10 thousand such youth have joined.
He said that there were 2657 candidates, who had got marks in socio-economic criteria, their result was withheld, their joining has not been done yet. The 11 thousand youth who have joined will not face any problem and their jobs will remain intact.
He said that the decision given by the Supreme Court today on the marks of socio-economic criteria has not had any effect on the first stage exam of CET. To save the recruitment of about 12 thousand selected candidates of Group-C, our government is fully committed to ensure that they do not have to appear for the examination again by placing the real situation before the High Court through a review petition.
50,000 recruitments will be done in the next 2 months
Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh announced that 50 thousand additional jobs will be given in the next 2 months. For this, the Haryana Staff Selection Commission will soon start the recruitment process and by next week the complete calendar will be released to the state. This will make the dream of government job of the youth come true. In future also, our government will make recruitments only on merit without any slip or expenditure.
On this occasion, MLA Mr Mohan Lal Badoli, Chief Secretary Mr TVSN Prasad, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr V Umashankar, Director General of Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department Mr Mandeep Singh Barar, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Bharti and other officers were present.
