Haryana Assembly Election: The dates for the assembly elections in Haryana may be announced soon. The term of the Haryana Assembly is going to end on 3 November 2024. Before the term ends, the Election Commission has to first form a new government. In such a situation, assembly elections can be announced at any time.

Haryana Assembly Election It is believed that elections may be held in the first or second week of October. This time a total of 2.01 crore voters will cast their votes in the assembly elections. Among them, there are 1.06 crore male and 95 lakh female voters.

The delegation of Election Commission of India led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Dr. SS Sandhu came on a two-day visit to Haryana to review the preparations for the upcoming assembly general elections in the state. On Tuesday, a meeting was held in Chandigarh with Haryana Chief Election Officer Pankaj Aggarwal and other officials.

The Election Commission in the meeting has directed the District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police in Haryana to ensure complete fairness, free and fair assembly elections. The officials have been told that while focusing on the inducement-free voting process, the Commission has also given guidelines to the enforcement agencies to prevent illegal liquor, money transactions and drugs.

The Election Commission team also includes Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu. They reached Chandigarh on Monday. During the review of election preparations, the Election Commission team also met representatives of national and state parties like Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), BJP, CPI (M), Congress, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Jannayak Janata Party (JJP).

Political parties raised these issues

The Election Commission team said that the political parties have raised several issues before them, including conducting free and fair elections with strict action against misuse of government machinery, deployment of adequate security forces at sensitive polling stations, reducing the distance between polling stations and improving facilities for the elderly and women.
