Experts in the field agree with Isha’s stand. Bloom IVF India Director Dr. Nandita Palshetkar said, “Infertility is as common as people complaining of diabetes, and we need to realize that fact. I really appreciate Isha Ambani coming out and having IVF babies. Don’t be stigmatized.”

Physical and emotional toll
The IVF process is known to be physically and emotionally exhausting. The hormone injections, countless visits and anticipation of success can be overwhelming. Dr. Palshetkar noted, “Couples are often intimidated by the fear of battling infertility, which makes it difficult for women to share their trials and tribulations.”

Despite these challenges, the success of IVF has given hope to many couples. “90% of mothers have a single child and 10% report having twins and triplets. In most cases, people do not announce that they have had IVF babies,” Dr. Palshetkar explained.

Importance of female friendship
Beyond her journey with IVF, Isha also spoke about the importance of female friendship. She has a close relationship with her sister-in-law, Shloka Mehta Ambani, who is married to her twin brother Akash Ambani.

“I was very lucky that the person my brother decided to marry was my best friend, Shloka. Even now, we share a house in London and we joke that we are married to each other because both Akash and Anand are in Mumbai. And we are here with the boys,” Isha told Vogue India.

She also expressed affection for her younger brother Anant Ambani’s soon-to-be wife Radhika Merchant. “Anant has always been like a child in my life, whom I have loved, so I look up to Radhika as a mother. My mother, Shloka and Radhika are my closest confidants and my first friends.” She shared.
