New Delhi Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 17th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi today i.e. on 18th June. Prime Minister Modi will transfer installments of Rs 2,000 each to the country’s 9.3 crore farmers from his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. In this, 20 thousand crore rupees will be allocated to the account of farmers.

Earlier on February 28, the 16th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was released. In this, more than 21 thousand crores of rupees were deposited in the accounts of farmers. Under this scheme, the government disburses Rs 6,000 in three installments of Rs 2,000 each to farmers’ accounts every year.

Farmers get 6 thousand rupees every year
Under this scheme, farmers are paid three installments of Rs 2,000 each (total Rs 6,000) in a year. Under the scheme, the first installment is released between April-July, the second installment between August-November and the third installment between December-March. The scheme was launched in 2019 to provide financial support to farmers.

Eligible beneficiaries of the scheme can also register themselves through Common Service Center (CSC). Apart from this only the local Patwaris, Revenue Officers and Nodal Officers nominated by the State Government are registering the farmers for this scheme.

All farmers get benefit of PM Kisan Yojana
Initially when the PM-Kisan scheme was launched (February, 2019), its benefits were only for small and marginal farmer families. This included farmers with a combined holding of up to 2 hectares. In June 2019, the scheme was revised and extended to all farming households. However, some farmers are still deprived of this scheme.
