Big news has come for electricity bill consumers, the fixed charge in the electricity bills of electricity consumers of Rajasthan has been increased, Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission has issued new tariff orders for all three electricity distribution issuances of the state from August 1, in this, while increasing the electricity consumption unit rates, the fixed charge on electricity connection will increase by 5 to 15% from different categories of electricity consumers, the new tariff orders have come into effect from August 1 this month.

The Commission has issued tariff orders for the year 2024-25 for Jaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur electricity distribution issue in the state. The commission has increased the electricity unit rates including fixed charges on different categories of electricity consumers. Under the new tariff order, from this time onwards, electricity companies will charge Rs 75 or more as permanent impact charge in electricity bills from different categories of electricity consumers as per their electricity consumption.

According to the information released by the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission, new tariff orders including fixed charges have been issued in electricity bills from BPL, Aastha category and non-domestic category electricity consumers in the state from August 1, while there has been a partial increase in the electricity bill rates for some categories of electricity consumers and keeping the electricity consumption charges of other categories of electricity consumers unchanged, the rates of fixed charges have increased by up to 15%.

In this, consumers consuming from 50 units of electricity to more than 500 units of electricity will have to pay additional charges ranging from Rs 20 to Rs 75 per month in their electricity bills from this month.

The commission has also increased the fixed charge on domestic category HT, non-domestic category LT and HT category consumers by 25 to 40 rupees per connection per month.

In the non-domestic category, the fixed charge on approved connection load above 5 kW has been increased by 150 rupees per kilowatt per month. In the non-domestic category above 50 kW, the permanent charge will now be ₹300 per kVA per month instead of ₹270 per kVA per month.
