The government has made a big change regarding the measurement of the chest of women in government recruitments in Haryana. Changing the rules, the government has decided that now there will be no chest measurement in the physical test (PMT) of women for the posts of Ranger, Deputy Ranger and other posts in the Forest Department. The government has removed this condition.

During the tenure of former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, in July 2023, the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) had added a new rule for recruitment in the Forest Department, under which the ‘normal’ size of the chest of female candidates should be 74 cm or 79 cm when inflated.

At the same time, for men, the chest should be 79 cm without inflation and 84 cm after inflation. Regarding this, opposition parties in Haryana had questioned the intention of the government. Congress leader Randeep Surjewala had also demanded a change in the rules from the government.
