Chandigarh: Chief Minister Mr. Nayab Singh opened a box of announcements for the welfare of the OBC class in Haryana and to give a big benefit to the youth in government jobs. He announced that today in Haryana, within the reservation for backward classes in jobs, the annual income limit of creamy layer is Rs 6 lakh from all sources. After consultation with the Haryana State Backward Classes Commission, now this creamy layer will be increased to Rs 8 lakh annually in state government jobs. On the lines of the Government of India, salary and income from agriculture will not be included in this income, which will benefit lakhs of people.

He also announced that the reservation for backward classes in Group-A and Group-B posts is 15 percent. Now it will be increased from 15 percent to 27 percent for all backward classes on the lines of the Central Government. Apart from this, the backlog of Backward Classes-A and B in jobs will be filled on priority basis. For this, preparations are being made to run a special recruitment campaign.

He also talked about giving 27 percent reservation for appointment in Haryana Skill Employment Corporation so that the youth of OBC category get employment easily.

The Chief Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the OBC Morcha Sarva Samaj Samrasta Sammelan in Gurugram on Monday.

The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of pride that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is fully alert to protect the interests of the OBC society. He said that the people of OBC category are not being deprived of their rights and the Central and State Government are continuously implementing schemes and working to give full respect to the OBC category.

He said that in the last 10 years, the government has fulfilled its responsibility in providing benefits to the OBC community at every level in Haryana. With the thinking of Prime Minister Shri Modi ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas-Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’, people have been empowered by connecting the last person of the society with the schemes. He said that the Central Government has taken meaningful steps towards the all-round development by declaring not only the OBC class but also the backward areas of the country as aspirational districts and Nuh district of Haryana has been included in the aspirational scheme of the Central Government under which continuous development schemes are being provided in the said district.

The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government is providing full support in the field of education by providing scholarships ranging from Rs 12 thousand to Rs 20 thousand to provide better quality education to the children of OBC community. The government is also focusing on the skill development of the OBC class people and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has made a provision of Rs 13 thousand crores for training the people of the society in 18 trades under the Bhagwan Vishwakarma Yojana. Also, under this scheme, a welfare scheme has been started so that the people of the OBC class can move forward towards their traditional work.

He told that as per the scheme, financial assistance of Rs 500 per day is also being provided to the people of the OBC class during the training and there is a provision to give a kit worth Rs 15 thousand to the trainees after the completion of the course.

He expressed happiness that the central and state government have given as much benefit to the OBC class in their last ten years of tenure as the previous opposition government has never given. The state government has played an important role in the upliftment of every class by giving full respect to the OBC class in its ten-year tenure.

On this occasion, Deputy Speaker of Haryana Assembly Mr. Ranbir Gangwa, State President of OBC Morcha Karnadev Kamboj, Rajya Sabha MP Mr. Ramchandra Jangra, officials of OBC Morcha and other dignitaries were present.
