After losing the toss and batting first in the match, the Indian team scored 171 runs losing 7 wickets. Captain Rohit Sharma hit a fifty in 36 balls. He played a fiery innings of 57 runs in 39 balls. During this, he hit 2 sixes and 6 fours. While Suryakumar Yadav hit 47 runs in 36 balls.

Apart from these, Hardik Pandya played an innings of 23 runs in 13 balls. In the end, Ravindra Jadeja scored unbeaten 17 runs off 9 balls. Chris Jordan took the maximum of 3 wickets for England. While Reece Topley, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran and Adil Rashid took 1 wicket each.
