Pune News – Two people, including a young woman, were killed when a luxury car collided with a motorcycle near Kalyaninagar in Pune city, police said on Sunday.
In this accident, both Anis Dudiya and Ashwini Kosta died on the spot.
Pune City Police DCP Vijay Kumar Magar said, “A motorcyclist and a two-wheeler were killed when a speeding Porsche car hit them from behind in Kalyani Nagar area of Pune city last night.
The accused has been arrested. An FIR has been registered.” He added that police are currently verifying certificates to ascertain the age of the accused, who claims to be a minor, and further investigation is underway.
The incident took place at 3.15 am on Sunday morning. According to the FIR, the deceased were among a group of friends who were returning home on a motorcycle from a party at a restaurant in Kalyani Nagar. “When they reached Kalyaninagar junction, a speeding, luxury car rammed the two-wheeler on which the deceased two were travelling. The two fell off the bike and died on the spot. After hitting the two, the car hit the side of the road. The pavement railing,” the FIR said.
The police have booked a minor under IPC Sections 304 A, 279, 337, 337, 338, 427, in the Yerwad Police Station of the Pune City Police on charges of reckless and negligent driving and endangering the life or personal safety of others. and relevant sections of the Maharashtra Motor Vehicle Act.
Video footage of the accident captured a group of people attacking the driver as he tried to get out of his damaged car. A case has been registered in the Yerwada police station and the police are investigating further.
