Pune Porsche accident case: Porsche car accident in Pune is in discussion. In the city, the minor son of a builder crushed a two-wheeler youth and a young woman with a Porsche car, killing them both. After 14 hours of the incident, the minor accused got bail from the court with certain conditions. Expressing outrage over the whole incident, a top police officer said that the Pune teenager should be tried as an adult. Permission of the High Court has been sought for this.

Maharashtra Police has come into action mode in case of Porsche car accident in Pune. The real estate developer father of the accused minor was arrested by the police from Aurangabad district on Tuesday. Earlier on Monday, the police had sought permission from the High Court to try the accused as adults. The police have also registered a case against the accused’s father. Earlier, the lower court had rejected the appeal of the police.

Pune car accident: Residents mourn the unfortunate death of youth in Kalyaninagar

The incident took place in the early hours of May 19. A 17-year-old son of a real estate developer in Pune’s Kalyaninagar area crushed a boy and a girl on a two-wheeler with his sports car Porsche, killing both. After 14 hours of the incident, the minor accused got bail from the court with certain conditions. Investigation has revealed that the accused is under the influence of alcohol. The deceased have been identified as Anish Kurdiya and his partner Ashwini Koshta. Both were 24 years old and were working in the IT sector.

Release of accused on certain conditions

A lower court of Juvenile Justice Board granted bail within 14 hours saying that the offense was not serious enough to deny bail. The court also imposed certain conditions for his release, including serving 15 days with the traffic police and writing a 300-word essay on the effects of road accidents and their resolution.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said in this case, the accused should be tried as adults. Police has sought permission from the High Court for this. This statement of the Police Commissioner has come in the backdrop of outrage over the granting of bail to the accused minor. CP Amitesh Kumar said the accused have been booked under IPC Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and Motor Vehicle Act. We approached the court to treat the accused as an adult.

Police said – this is a heinous crime

Police say this is a heinous crime as defined under Section 2 of the Juvenile Justice Act. However, the local court has rejected the application of the police. He said, we have appealed against this order in the high court tomorrow. We will leave no stone unturned to prove that this is a heinous crime.

The Porsche car is registered in the father’s name

Investigation revealed that the accused Kishore had gone to meet his friends and was driving a Porsche car at high speed. Police said the car was registered in his father’s name and had no number plate. The accused minor and two others traveling in the Porsche were detained and taken to the police station. However, he was granted bail within 14 hours.

After the accident, passers-by beat up the minor

CCTV footage shows passers-by pulling the accused minor and his friends out of the car and beating them up after the incident. In another CCTV footage, the accused minor and his friends are seen drinking alcohol at a bar before the accident.

The lawyer of the accused said – we are following the law

The accused’s father and the bar that supplied liquor to the accused are being booked under Sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act. Prashant Patil, the lawyer of the accused Kishore said, We are at the initial stage of the investigation. We are following the process of law. The investigative agencies have done their work. The accused is entitled to bail. Everyone is working within the law.

The victim’s family called the accused a human bomb.

On the other hand, Akhilesh Abdiya, uncle of Anish Abdiya, who died in the accident, said the bail conditions imposed on the minor were ridiculous. He criticized the negligence of the Maharashtra police. He called the minor a ‘human bomb’. Abdiya said that under the new law, the punishment should be seven years. The bail conditions are ridiculous. It is also taught to students of class V. He was driving a car worth Rs 3 crore. He was released because he is the son of a business tycoon.
