Train accident in Bengal: Kanchenjunga Express (13174) was rear-ended by a goods train at Darjeeling in West Bengal around 9 am on Monday. In this accident, three coaches of Kanchenjunga Express were badly damaged. So far, the dead bodies of 7 people have been recovered, while 25 to 30 people are reported to be injured.

It is suspected that the accident happened because the pilot of the freight train ignored the signal. The collision was so strong that one coach of the express train ran over the engine of the freight train. Two other coaches derailed.
The North Bengal National Transport Corporation has dispatched 10 buses to the spot to take the injured to the hospital.
