Bank holidays this week in May 2024: Bank customers across the state will have to plan for a possible four-day holiday this week, May 23-26, due to Buddha Purnima, Nazral Jayanti/2024 General Elections and Saturday-Sunday Saturday-Sunday. leaves

All public sector banks, including the largest lender State Bank of India (SBI), have at least ten holidays this month (May 2024). This includes Saturday off every second and fourth week and all non-working Sundays every week. The full list is below.

The central bank, or the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), determines all bank holiday calendars for the year in conjunction with declared state government holidays. Not all religious festivals or regional customs are celebrated uniformly and therefore may not be marked as non-working days in all states across the country.

So, please confirm all holidays and vacation days with your nearest branch to avoid any inconvenience.

Bank Holiday on May 1: Banks in India and Maharashtra will be closed on May Day/Labour Day and Maharashtra Day.

Bank Holiday on May 8: Banks in West Bengal will remain closed on the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore’s birthday.

Bank Holiday on May 10: Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya festival.

Bank Holiday on May 23: Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.

Bank Holiday: Banks in some states will remain closed on May 24. Banks in some states will remain closed for Nazral Jayanti and the next phase of 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

RBI shares this schedule through official channels such as its website and notices to banks and other financial institutions.
