Chandigarh,  Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini today inaugurated the first phase of Asia’s largest modern apple, fruit and vegetable market Pinjore in Pinjore of district Panchkula and gave many gifts for the welfare of farmers and traders.

Chief Minister announced to reduce the market fee in this market from 1 percent to 0.5 percent to increase the trade in the modern apple, fruit and vegetable market, Pinjore. Apart from this, he also announced to increase the age of applicant under Mukhyamantri Kisan and Khetihar Mazdoor Jeevan Suraksha Yojana, 2013 from the present 10 to 65 years to 10 to 75 years.

He said that under this scheme, no amount was given to farmers and agricultural labourers in case of accidents caused by lightning. Now the government has also included accidents caused by lightning in this scheme.

The Chief Minister said that under the Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen Yojana, it has been decided to open canteens in 100 Mandis to provide food to the farmers and labourers of the state throughout the year at a concessional rate of Rs 10 per plate. So far, canteens have been started in 48 Mandis. He announced that Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteens will soon be opened in other Mandis as well.

While announcing the dispute resolution policy, he said that compound interest will not be recovered from all the plot holders in the Mandi premises and all the outstanding amount will be calculated only on simple interest.

Apart from this, it was also announced that if the installment is paid within 20 days after the due date, no penal interest will be charged. The Chief Minister also announced the abolition of HRDF on all fruits and vegetables and extension of the Dispute Resolution Scheme till 30 September 2024.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction and repair works of Mandis at a cost of Rs 15.68 crore

Earlier, he laid the foundation stone for the construction work of the new grain market to be built at village Sagga in district Karnal by Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board Panchkula at a cost of Rs 8.99 crore and special repair work worth Rs 6.69 crore to maintain various basic facilities of Babain Grain Market of district Kurukshetra smoothly. Along with this, he also announced to give an amount of five crore rupees for various development works in Kalka assembly constituency.

The work of the second phase of the Mandi will be completed by December 31, 2024

Chief Minister Mr. Nayab Singh Saini said that the modern apple, fruit and vegetable market Pinjore will be the largest modern market in Asia. The construction of this market spread over an area of ​​78 acres will cost Rs 220 crore. Its first phase has been constructed in an area of ​​10 acres at a cost of Rs 14 crore 66 lakh.

The work of its second phase is in progress, which will be completed by December 31, 2024. He said that the fruit and vegetable producing farmers and traders of Haryana will benefit from the construction of Mandi here. Along with this, apple producers and apple related businessmen of Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir will also benefit.

The Chief Minister said that on an average 210 lakh quintals of fruits and vegetables arrive in various mandis of Haryana throughout the year. At present, Sector-20 of Panchkula has the biggest apple market. Apple trade started in this market in the year 2016. Every year, about 35 lakh apple boxes are traded here.

Apples arrive here for four months in a year from August to November. He said that due to lack of sufficient space in Panchkula market in view of the arrival of apples, this huge market is being established in Pinjore. Fruit traders of Haryana used to buy fruits from Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir and sell them directly in Delhi. Now, with the establishment of this market, traders will be able to buy and sell fruits and vegetables in this market. Farmers of this region will also benefit from this. This market will fulfill the needs of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali and the northern region.

He said that 77 shops and plots have been sold in this apple market of Pinjore through e-auction. With the establishment of apple market here, traders and producers will get modern facilities for maintenance and purchase and sale of fruits and vegetables.

Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that Pinjore, connected to the border of Himachal Pradesh, is the gateway of Haryana. Along with Himachal, apple traders of Jammu and Kashmir are also in touch with Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board for apple trade, hence Pinjore will emerge as a major center for apple business.
